You either use the postal registration form printed from within Parts Tracker, or you
pay with a PayPal account (bank account, credit card) online. Please see this page for full
instructions
After payment is received, an email will be sent to you containing your unlock number.
NOTE! If you pay using PayPal, then PayPal will send you a transaction confirmation email
immediately after payment. This DOES NOT contain your unlock number (because PayPal doesn't
generate unlock numbers - they are just the payment gateway). The unlock number is manually
generated and emailed to you within a few days of your payment.
There is no user manual at this time. Parts Tracker is relatively easy to use and free support is available
via email. I am working on a help file which will be installed with
Parts Tracker (and be available online as well) but it is yet to be completed.
You can turn of the security alerts which are displayed when Parts Tracker starts by following these instructions:
How to remove macro security warning in Office 2003
How to remove macro security warning in Office 2007
How to remove macro security warning in Access Runtime
Parts Tracker uses a registration/unlock number pair for licensing. A registration code
is randomly generated but contains value that are only valid for a specific computer (i.e.
the computer Parts Tracker was installed on). If you change certain hardware, reinstall Windows,
upgrade Windows versions, or format the hard drive, then the registration code is lost and a new
one is generated. At this point, Parts Tracker will ask for a new unlock number (because the
old one you had no longer matches). Don't worry - you just need to email the new registration
number and you'll receive a new unlock number.
